Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we process it, where we store it, and who we share it with when you use the Promy website and browser extension, along with the choices you have. We keep it short and specific on purpose.

1. Who we are
Promy is operated by Promy, Inc. (“Promy”, “we”, “us”). Promy is an AI-powered prompt engineering assistant delivered as a website and a browser extension that rewrites your prompts before you send them to AI tools.
For any privacy question or request, contact us at support@usepromy.app.
2. Data we collect
We collect only what we need to provide the service:
- Account data. Your name and email address when you create an account, or the profile basics returned by Google if you sign in with Google OAuth.
- Prompt content. The prompts you submit for enhancement and the enhanced results we return. These are stored in your private history so you can revisit and reuse them.
- Usage data. Counts of enhancements per day used to enforce free-tier limits and show you your usage.
- Billing data. If you subscribe, your subscription status and plan. Payment card details are handled entirely by our payment processor and are never seen or stored by Promy.
- Technical data. Standard log and security data such as IP address and timestamps, used to operate, secure, and debug the service.
The browser extension does not store any data on your device. It keeps no local browser storage; it only reads your existing Promy session cookie on the Promy domain to authenticate your requests, and all account, history, and usage data described above is stored on our servers, not in the extension.
3. How we use your data
- To provide the core feature: analyzing and rewriting your prompts.
- To maintain your private prompt history so you can return to past work.
- To authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- To enforce free-tier quotas and process subscriptions.
- To respond to support requests and improve reliability.
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your prompts or enhanced results to train AI models.
4. AI processing
To enhance a prompt, its content is sent to our AI provider, Google (Gemini API), which processes it solely to generate the improved prompt and return it to you. We instruct the provider to process this content only to deliver the service. Avoid including sensitive personal data, credentials, or confidential information in prompts.
6. Data retention
We keep your account, prompt history, and usage data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or irreversibly anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to meet legal, tax, or accounting obligations.
7. Your choices and rights
You can access and update your account information at any time from your dashboard, and delete your account from the account settings. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email support@usepromy.app.
8. Security
Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access to production systems is restricted. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data and review them regularly.
9. Chrome Web Store disclosure
Promy’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. The browser extension requests only the permissions needed to authenticate you and enhance prompts. We do not collect browsing history, and data is used only to provide and improve user-facing features of Promy — never sold or used for advertising.
10. Children
Promy is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above, and significant changes will be communicated where appropriate.
